Frequently Asked Questions
If you have questions that are not covered in our FAQ, please post them in an appropriate forum.
|Question||Will my email or information be sold to third parties?|
|Answer||engineer-cloud.com does not sell your information to third parties.|
|Question||Is the site secure? Will my data be accessible to others?|
|Answer||The website employs security methods to protect your data and your privacy. It also keeps up to date on current software patches to help maintain this level of protection. The stored data is not encrypted but is also not publicly accessible. A successful login using your username and password is what unlocks only your directory for your use by the server. You cant access your data directly but the server knows when a login is successful and uses that login information to store and retrieve your data.
It should also be noted that the data stored on the website does not contain personal information that is not already available by searching for a name or license number on a state PE or licensing boards website. Even if someone hacked into the system, we do not collect or store any information of a financial or non-public nature so the security of your information is similar to how it currently exists through other public internet PE board and licensing databases.
|Question||What is the cost for using the site? Are there any fees?|
|Answer||engineer-cloud.com does not charge a fee for using the site or its services. Third party adds or external links may request fees for their services. Using the engineer-cloud.com website and its tools is free.|
|Question||Can I import and export my data?|
|Answer||This feature is not yet available but is coming soon.
Our goal is to make the site as open source as possible. Come and leave the site as you wish. Join or delete your account as you wish. Keep your own backup of your data in a delineated text file format for your records if you wish.
|Question||Is my data entered into the site backed up?|
|Answer||We currently have the host backing up the database automatically on a weekly basis so in the event of a problem or unforeseen lost database the data can be restored for the periodic backup.
The site is currently hosted on Justhost.com which is one of the leading and more reliable service providers available for general public use.
|Question||Does the PDH tracking program track carryover credits for states|
|Answer||Yes. The PDH/CEU tracking program has been configured to keep track of all PDH hours and then assign them to each state or jurisdiction for a renewal period. A report is saved and extra PDH carryover credits are saved for use on the next renewal based on the state carryover allowances entered into the site. License holders should verify that the programmed amount of carryover credits are valid or if they have changed. The tracking program also tracks state specific training so that specialized training completed only applies to a specific state and is not calculated in the PDH totals for the other states that don't apply to the training.|
